Our Aims & Promises
Old Vicarage is a true home from home
We believe passionately that our residents are at home and not in a home, so we empower our team to provide the warm, safe and caring environment we’d wish for ourselves and our own loved ones.
Old Vicarage embraces every resident’s individuality
At Old Vicarage, we’re proud of the fact that our residents are all individuals, and we work with them to protect their sense of identity. We don’t demand that our residents change to suit us, instead we work with them and their families to make sure that we accommodate every passion and interest we’re able. And we mark their own special occasions too – whether that’s a card and a gift for every resident on their birthday, or making our facilities available to their nearest and dearest so that the whole family can experience family occasions.
Old Vicarage always has something exciting to see, do, or experience
Care, wellbeing, comfort and security are naturally our absolute priorities, but we also believe passionately in the power of ongoing mental stimulation so plan a programme of regular activities, outings and experiences. Our Activities Co-ordinator focuses on working with our residents to bring a little sparkle to each and every day.
Old Vicarage is flexible and we know that needs change
Flexibility is core to everything that we do at Old Vicarage and we work with our residents, their families, and other healthcare providers to identify and more than meet each and every one of their changing needs. Care plans are updated regularly and we encourage families and loved ones to review these regularly.
Old Vicarage staff are highly trained
We’re proud to invest heavily in ongoing staff training, because it means that our residents can be assured the very best care. Not only are we able to promptly incorporate latest best practice guidelines, but we can quickly take advantage of new developments and initiatives in care practice too. We even have specialist palliative care nurses on staff, who are able to ease those final moments and ensure that our residents can stay with us right until the end, in comfort and in the environment they love.
